How do you refer to your diary or calendar?

Do you ever use the word agenda?

For years I have been correcting my Spanish-speaking students for using agenda as a synonym of diary.

Today I discovered with Marcela do Espírito Santo that in North America they use the word agenda and probably in many other ‘Englishes’ from around the world as well!

So if you are speaking to a British person don’t confuse them using the word agenda (as we will think you are talking about a meeting agenda=the list of things to do in a meeting) but a North American person should understand you completely!
